We are delighted to announce that Ruth Cooper-Dickson has signed with The bks Agency, being represented by Morwenna Loughman. Ruth is an academic award-winning positive psychology practitioner and trauma-informed wellness coach. She is also the founder and CEO of global Mental Wealth consultancy CHAMPS which supports businesses on their journey of positive organisational culture change.

Ruth also created her sustainable Community Interest Company, CHAMPS for Change in 2019, enabling her to give back to communities affected by the causes she is most passionate about, namely survivors of domestic violence and abuse and marginalised people who have experienced trauma and adversity.

Ruth works with individuals, global brands and charities to help them thrive. Bringing with her many years’ experience in Mental Wealth consultancy, accredited coaching and training, her work has taken her to diverse environments - from multinational corporations to refugee camps and favelas. Online group coaching programmes and one-to-one coaching are also key elements of Ruth’s work.

Reinforcing her standing in the research community, Ruth holds an MSc in Applied Positive Psychology and Coaching Psychology. She is about to undertake further research at UEL for a Ph.D on coaching and post- traumatic growth. She recently published an academic paper on Trauma, Post-traumatic Growth and Coaching for the European Journal of Applied Positive Psychology.

A highly accomplished public speaker, Ruth has delivered engaging keynote presentations internationally to many corporations, from ING Bank’s ‘Global Diversity and Inclusion’ week to Expedia’s ‘Global Wellness’ month conference in California, and the Women’s Economic Forum in Slovenia.

Putting compassion, empathy and authenticity at the heart of everything she does, Ruth often shares her own lived experience of panic disorder, generalised anxiety disorder, trauma and more recently her ADHD diagnosis. Ruth is a patron of UK charity, No Panic.

Ruth is a keen writer and previously was the resident positive psychology expert for “On the Couch” magazine. She has also contributed her expert commentary to a number of mental health books - Don’t Call Me Snowflake by Lucy Nichol (Welbeck), The Rise of the Girl by Jo Wimble Groves (DK) and How I Learned to Live with Panic by Claire Eastham (Penguin).

Her own book When Does it Get Better is a supportive guide to the healing journey of post-traumatic growth to empower those who have come through adversity and trauma.
