The latest story in the series, The Bongles and the Crafty Crows, has a print run of 60,000 books for the education sector in UK.
Ingenious drawings by artist Dean Queazy, combined with quirky stories told in rhyme by Oscar Van Heek, these books offer a unique and distinctive voice in children's storytelling.
The Bongles books tell imaginative, funny and eco-friendly stories about the colourful bouncy creatures, The Bongles, who reuse, repair and upcycle objects that wash up onto their shores – turning trash into treasure.
The stories are available now as unique animated audiobooks, through Apple Books.
TV Dinner
When a TV washes ashore, Big Bubba cannot resist the big apple pie showing on the screen. Bubba gobbles down the TV, but being far too large to eat, it gets stuck! The Twins – Double and Trouble – must tickle him to laugh out it of his tummy. Brainy appears to restore the balance, and together they all enjoy the Bongle Ball World Cup.
Monster Takeaway
The Bongles haul a phone box onto the beach, and Brainy dials for a takeaway dinner. The meal is delivered by helicopter, but the phone box falls into the sea and the Bongles find themselves afloat with their dinner. The delicious smell attracts a Sea Monster who steals the food, and the terrified Bongles flee. Trying to call for more food, their call goes to the floating phone box – but the only one around to answer is the Sea Monster…
Pet Washing Machine
Big Bubba hauls a washing machine ashore and climbs inside, only to get stuck on the spin cycle. Brainy comes to the rescue, and after endless tinkering he turns the washing machine into a Pet Robot. The first thing it sees is the adoring eyes of Bubba, and thinks Bubba is his dad. Pet follows Bubba everywhere, but when they go for a swim Pet begins to sink! Bubba saves Pet and the two are now bonded forever.
Jessie and Nessie
Scottish Jessie arrives on Bongle Island paddling on a hoover! Brainy soon fashions the hoover into bagpipes, to Jessie’s delight. She starts to play and in no time has the Bongles marching up and down the beach. But the noise also awakens a monster from the deep. Could it be Nessie?
