Dani Garavelli

Dani Garavelli is a feature writer, specialising in reportage. She is freelance, working for titles including The Scotsman, Scotland on Sunday, The Times, Guardian, Tortoise, The Big Issue, The Herald magazine, Holyrood magazine and Prospect magazine. She has a weekly opinion/political column in Scotland on Sunday and is an occasional commentator on TV and radio. Dani has written prolifically on gender issues and has followed the #MeToo movement from the day the Harvey Weinstein allegations broke.

This has involved writing about Brett Kavanaugh in the US, the Westminster and Holyrood sexual harassment investigations and a 6,000-word long-read on the Alex Salmond trial published in Tortoise and Scotland on Sunday. She has a track record of writing about politics and extensive contacts within the SNP and wider Yes movement. 

Dani is currently working on a book about the case of Nikki Allan, the seven year old girl murdered in Sunderland in 1992
