WRITING MY OWN SCRIPT is for every girl, young woman, and anyone who has arrived at the point of being in the ‘the wrong career.' You want to succeed so much, but you have been told you are not right for the job; or you were overlooked for the promotion; or your toiling in a dead-end role. My story offers life lessons for young women starting out on the path less traveled; for those who may not think they have the talent for something; and for those who have the desire, the determination, and the mindset to dare to dream big.
Alison shares lessons and wisdom she learned from her career trajectory through the world of live TV. Alison takes us behind the scenes of the crazy TV world, and she shares stories of overcoming the hurdles, setbacks, and ‘failures’ along the way. Crucially, Alison shows how sideways or downward moves might seem like diversions, but they can actually be learning experiences to lead to your dream job.
Alison’s pathway took her into the man’s world of Football journalism where she had to hold on for dear life.
WRITING MY OWN SCRIPT is a unique story told in a mixture of funny and inspirational anecdotes; and sprinkled with Alison’s diary entries over her life. These entries give the reader a chance to feel Alison’s pain and doubts along the way. Each chapter starts with an inspirational quote and ends with takeaway tips to be read again as key takeaways for anyone who has been told they are not good enough; but who refuses to let go.
